Guy Riedel - Owner
Originally from New Jersey, Guy moved
to California after receiving an MBA from Rutgers University to work
in the entertainment industry. Though his day job for the past fifteen
years has been producing motion pictures such as WEDDING CRASHERS,
MORNING GLORY, COUPLES RETREAT, CLOVERFIELD, ROCKY BALBOA and
OFFICE SPACE, his love for wine and the production of a number of
successful amateur vintages propelled him to start a commercial wine
company. Whether
producing wine or producing movies his almost obsessive attention
to detail and pursuit of excellence shows itself in the final product.
The combination of hands on success with past vintages, the guiding
wisdom of Kian Tavakoli and our state of the art custom-crush facility,
promises to get the most out of every vintage year.
Kian Tavakoli – Consulting Winemaker
Before joing Crushpad,
Kian most recently was the winemaker at Clos
Du Val where he ran their red wine program – including their highly-acclaimed
reserve bottling. Before joining Clos Du Val in 1996, Kian spent
four years learning cabernet winemaking at Opus One. With
over 10 years of winemaking, operations and viticultural experience,
Kian brings a stellar combination of sensory and production skills to
his efforts as consulting winemaker for Guy Riedel Wines.
