Guy Riedel Wines is a venture
seven years in the making. In 2001 we began working towards this
endeavor by producing four successive vintages from our garage.
By 2005 we had left the civilian world behind and went commercial
with a singular purpose. To produce hand-made, ultra premium wines
without compromise; in the grapes we choose, in the production
process and in the aging and bottling. We firmly believe our quest
for quality and attention to detail pays off in the final product.
Instrumental in this process is our consulting winemaker Kian
Tavakoli whose
experience and passion has helped us consistently raise the bar
for our wines both in bottle and barrel. For 2005 we focused on
a single Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as our inaugural release.
For 2006 and 2007, in addition to the Napa Valley Cabernet, we
also produced a Santa Barbara Syrah from a vineyard that was born
to produce world class Syrah. They are both aging gracefully in
100% French Oak awaiting the next stage in their life in the bottle
and in your glass. Look for additional varietals to be added to
the Guy Riedel family of wines in the years to come.
